A Fun and Challenging Group Skills Building Experience!

  • 65 US dollars

Service Description

First, we'll gather to discuss the basics: Topics include the history of slingshot, slingshot equipment, shooting styles, international slingshot competition, and CT law and regulation. We'll discuss field set-up, standards of conduct and etiquette, and we'll spend a good deal of time on safety considerations. In fact, safety is built into everything we do, from getting the field set up, to providing pro-grade equipment and getting it properly tuned. Your experienced Guide will attentively assist you in the development of safe practices and proper form. Your 90 minute Slingshot Experience includes: -Use of a professional quality F+B Slingshot frame (made right here in Connecticut!) - A high-quality flat natural latex band set - already customized to your provided Active Band Length (ADL) -A supply of mudballs (safe, earth-friendly clay practice rounds), and ANSI-rated safety glasses (required). -3 Keepsake F+B Poster Targets Your Guide will demonstrate proper form while sharing tips to avoid common mistakes and build best practices. We emphasize the mental game, and your instructor will share analysis of their own mental preparation and analysis of internal states. Group members will have the chance to have their form corrected prior to taking the field. You'll be paired up in teams at your stations and work together to advance your skills. Dedicated slingers often review their own form in the mirror or on video tape, but you'll get real-time feedback from your partner and your Guide. Your Guide will visit each participant throughout the target skills building period to both add helpful information and monitor safety considerations. Periodically, the Guide will call a break in practice to provide more advanced and nuanced instruction. After your 90-minute Slingshot Safety & Target Skills Experience, you'll know how to get started in slingshot sports and keep yourself and others safe while doing it. You'll know how to choose your own equipment and the basics of equipment customization, you'll know about setting up your own practice space, and importantly, you'll be more likely to hit the target more often! Then, you'll just need to decide if you'd rather brag about your shot grouping (consistency) or if the pattern on your F+B Keepsake Target Poster really looks like your favorite constellation in the galaxy!
