Hamptons Natural Hawthorn

This Hawthorn was grown in my sister-in-law's garden in the Hamptons. They were planning to take a couple of trees down and obliged my request for a fork while over for lunch one day this summer. Her partner pulled an old hand saw from the shed and I was soon mugging for the camera, fork in hand, with sweat still beading on my forehead. When we got back to Connecticut, I sealed the cut ends with CA glue and gave the drying process a head start with the microwave before letting it sit in a cool dry spot for a couple of months.
